The scramble
Onboarding happens on day one, in front of the new hire. Accounts requested when they sit down.
The laptop arrives on day three. Eleven separate requests to IT for accounts. Nobody is quite sure who's showing them around. Employee Onboarding turns the offer letter into a checklist with owners and dates, gets accounts and equipment ready the night before, and gives the new person a first week that was obviously planned.
Built for organizations that have outgrown "someone will sort it."
Runs on your existing HR tool, or starts your HRIS when you're ready for one.
Yes. Accounts live, laptop at her desk, first-week plan on her calendar, buddy confirmed.
Most organizations we meet have an onboarding checklist.
It lives in someone's head.
Works with your HR tool, your identity provider and your task list.
Humi is our default HRIS for Canadian organizations. If you don't have one yet,
we start with a checklist and activate the HRIS when you're ready.
New people decide how they feel about an organization in the first week. A laptop that isn't there and a login that doesn't work say more than any welcome speech. Onboarding is dozens of small tasks across four people; we give every one an owner and a date, and make the accounts happen on their own.
Ready the night
before. Every time.
Works for exits too: access removed the same day, nothing left behind.
Having a checklist is the easy part. Getting four people to do thirty things on time, every hire, is what's missing.
Onboarding happens on day one, in front of the new hire. Accounts requested when they sit down.
There's a list, usually in one person's memory or an old doc. It mostly works, until they're on holiday.
Signed offer triggers the checklist. Accounts and equipment happen automatically. The first week is planned and on their calendar.
We turn the signed offer into a checklist with owners and dates, connect your identity provider and task list so accounts happen automatically, and build a first-week plan that lands on the new person's calendar.
A signed offer in your HR tool, or a form if you don't have one yet, starts the checklist: manager, IT, payroll, buddy, facilities. Every task has an owner, a due date and a reminder. Paperwork collected and signed before day one, with the right forms for BC and federal payroll.
Accounts created the night before from the HR record: email, files, chat, the task list, the password manager, the tools their role needs, nothing more. Laptop ordered with enough lead time and set up before it ships. The same flow in reverse on exit: access removed the same day, files handed over.
A first-week calendar built from a template for the role: welcome, systems tour, the all-hands recording, meetings with the people they'll work with, a first real task. Check-ins at day 5, 30 and 90. A quarterly look at where new hires got stuck, and the checklist updated.
Measured, not promised. Every one of these is checked with you before we call it done.
Accounts live, laptop at the desk, paperwork signed, buddy confirmed. The new person's first login works and their first morning has a plan.
Thirty tasks across five people, each with a name and a due date, visible on one board. Nothing depends on who remembers.
The same flow in reverse: access removed the same day, files and ownership transferred, equipment back. No ex-employee with a live login.
If you're on spreadsheets today, we start with the checklist and activate Humi or BambooHR as part of the module when you're ready, with payroll, time-off and documents in one record.
Onboarding is where access gets granted and exits are where it gets forgotten. These rules keep both tidy, agreed in week one.
Each role has a defined set of tools and folders. New people get that set, nothing more, and it's reviewed quarterly.
Contracts, tax forms and policies signed in advance so day one is about the work, not the forms.
A person, with a due date. If they're away, the task moves before it's late.
Access removed, files transferred, equipment back. Logged, so you can prove it.
The prompts, the agents, the rules, the templates, the data and the accounts. Everything is set up in your tenant, in your name. Leave any time and take all of it; nothing GoodOps builds is a reason to stay.
Three questions: what happens between a signed offer and day one today, who does each step, and which tools already hold the pieces? Every tool lands in one of four states. That list is the plan.
An HR tool with onboarding features nobody set up. We switch them on.
e.g. Humi onboarding, BambooHR checklistsA checklist exists but accounts are created by hand, one ticket at a time. We automate provisioning.
e.g. A Google Doc checklist, IT ticketsA spreadsheet, a payroll provider and a drive of PDFs. We bring it into one HRIS.
e.g. Spreadsheets, paper forms, old payroll toolYour identity provider and task list. We plug in.
e.g. Microsoft 365, Google Workspace, AsanaEvery GoodOps hire and contractor goes through the same flow. Their accounts exist before they do.
You approve before we move to the next step. We start with one team or one cycle, prove it, then roll it out to everyone.
Role templates, task owners and timings agreed. Paperwork digitised. HR tool connected, or activated if you're starting one.
The next hire goes through the full flow: checklist, automatic accounts, laptop, planned week. Checked step by step.
Exit flow built, existing staff access reviewed by role, managers trained on the board. Templates finalised.
Runs on your GoodOps retainer. Quarterly review of where new hires got stuck; access review; new tools added to the role templates.
Then Employee Onboarding runs on your GoodOps fractional retainer. Checklist build and account automation are part of the module. HRIS activation, if you're starting one, is quoted with it.
Software: Humi or BambooHR run CAD 8–18 per person per month; your identity provider and task list are what you already pay.
The things owners ask us on the first call.
Yes. We start with a checklist that lives in your task list and automates accounts from a simple form. When you're ready, we activate an HRIS as part of the module and the checklist moves into it.
Humi for most Canadian organizations: payroll, time-off, documents and onboarding in one record, built here. BambooHR if you're larger or already on it. We don't make anyone switch for fun.
From the HR record, through your identity provider. Microsoft 365 or Google Workspace creates the email and files; the role template adds chat, the task list, the password manager and the tools that role needs. Nothing more.
Yes. The same flow in reverse: access removed the same day, files and ownership transferred, equipment returned, and all of it logged. Exits are where most organizations leave live logins behind.
Same flow, different templates: shorter access, defined end dates, automatic removal when the contract ends.
The 30-minute mini-diagnostic is free. From it you get a fixed price for the six-week set-up, typically CAD 8,000–15,000 depending on how many roles and systems you have. If you're activating an HRIS, that's quoted with it. Once live, it runs on your GoodOps retainer.
Book the 30-minute mini-diagnostic. We'll map what happens between offer and day one today, and give you a four-state plan for every tool.
